Cold War Tension 3: Truman in Office and the Result of Stalin's Speech

The United States main problem with the Soviet Union was supposedly President Harry S. Truman. Truman came into office unprepared for the responsibilities he would have and the learning of the Manhattan Project. He became President after Franklin Roosevelt death. Franklin Roosevelt failed to tell Truman about the atomic bomb. During Truman's Presidency he felt fear over giving into too many demands from Stalin. In 1946 Stalin gave a speech, "Communism and capitalism are incompatible and another war is inevitable." He then said that the Soviets would focus more on making weapons instead of focusing on consumer goods. The United States took Stalin's speech as a declaration of war......

  1. i really like how you added the quote by stalin. you get to see what he really thought of Truman. The part of concentrating on making weapons is interesting too. He was really sirious about strengthening his nuclear power and its a good thing we stepped in before something really bad happened. oh and your blog looks great!

  4. what do you feel the real problem in the states was? was it Truman? and if so do you think just being thrown right in to being the leader of the most powerful country in the world and also it being the first time haring of the manhattan proect could have had anything to do with it?
