Although so many bad things were going on in the Cold War, many good, new things were happening at home. Many things were becoming popular. People were buying a lot of things, such as television sets and automobiles. This was a time of happiness. Families would always have dinner together every night, kids would be outside playing and they could feel safe on their street. People listened to singers like Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe. A new type of music became popular, rock n' roll. Elvis Presley....the king of rock n' roll! He was very popular with teenagers and is known as a legend today. There were new t.v. shows like "I Love Lucy" and "Bonanza". Drive up restaurants were the place to go and there were always cute diners to eat at. Many people did fun things to distract them from thinking about all the bad things happening in the Cold War.
Anna, I think it was very neat that you did a post about the good things goign on during the Cold War. I also like the song on your blog.
